Job Description

Litigation Docketing Specialist

  • Manage litigation calendars and docketing deadlines for state and federal court matters using ProLaw and Westlaw Legal Calendaring Rules.
  • Review ECF filings, court documents, emails, and correspondence to identify, prioritize, and process docketing events.
  • Calculate, enter, and update critical case deadlines while ensuring compliance with court rules and firm procedures.
  • Maintain Outlook calendars and determine appropriate scheduling of litigation-related events and deadlines.
  • Communicate with attorneys and case teams regarding case setup, calendaring requirements, docketed events, and deadline inquiries.
  • Conduct deadline-related research and analyze court orders to verify applicable rules and scheduling impacts.
  • Utilize court websites, docket search tools, and document retrieval databases to support accurate case management.
  • Promote and maintain firm docketing policies, procedures, and best practices across litigation teams.
  • Handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Work independently and collaboratively to support centralized docketing operations across multiple California offices and national practice groups.

Key Qualifications

  • 7+ years of litigation experience with strong knowledge of California state and federal court rules.
  • Experience calculating court deadlines and managing complex litigation calendars.
  • ProLaw experience preferred; strong technical proficiency required.
  • Stable work history with demonstrated career commitment.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, communication, and time-management skills.
